Daytona Beach Real Estate
Daytona Beach is world-famous for 23 miles of drivable, sandy beaches. Daytona Beach is also well known for the Daytona International Speedway hosting Speed Week, Bike Week, and Biketoberfest. But the list doesn't end there.
Daytona Beach is home to a number of colleges and universities. Some of the educational establishments of Daytona Beach include Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Bethune Cookman University, Daytona State College, the University of Central Florida, and more.
Daytona Beach also is home to the Museum of Arts & Science, the Southeast Museum of Photography, theatres, historical attractions, and the Jackie Robinson Baseball Stadium. Daytona's history dates back to 1870. This city immediately became populated due to ocean tourism and great investment opportunity. Daytona was named the "World's Most Famous Beach" in the 1920's.
Volusia County has nearly fifty miles of recreational beach along the atlantic coast including Daytona Beach. Volusia County operates thirty parks totaling nearly 300 acres in addition to seventy city-operated parks. Amenities generally include pavilions, ball fields, boat launching and ramp areas, physical fitness equipment, nature trails, shooting ranges, overnight camping areas and fishing facilities. Volusia county's lakes, golf courses, beaches, and numerous attractions are some reasons why more than 8 million tourists visit the area annually.
Daytona Beach's Ocean Center is only 400 steps from the ocean and is a multi-use facility that hosts conventions, trade shows, concerts, banquets, and sporting events. The Ocean Center has recently doubled in size due to a 164,000 square foot expansion, making it one of the largest venues in the region.
The Daytona International Speedway hosts numerous racing events throughout the year that attract enthusiasts worldwide. These include the "Great American Race," the Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the Coke Zero 400, and the Bud Shootout. The national headquarters of NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) is at the Daytona International Speedway.
The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) is also located in Daytona Beach and is the premier sanctioning body for women's professional golf. LPGA tournaments continue to attract new visitors to the area.
